Equipment Manager & Visiting Team Liaison Officer (11 month contract)

Reporting to the Head Coach of Ottawa Fury FC, the Equipment Manager & Visiting Team Liaison Officer will be responsible for all matters relating to the management of equipment and apparel for the Ottawa Fury FC USL team, and will act as the main point of contact for the team when the team is travelling.

This position is a contract position commencing on January 2 through November 30th each year.

What’s it about?:

  • Day to day management of all player, training and game day equipment needs;
  • Procuring, managing and maintaining equipment inventories;
  • Managing the storage of equipment and apparel;
  • Overseeing the fitting and adjustments needed for uniforms and equipment for the team;
  • Responsible for proper laundering of all apparel;
  • Maintenance and general cleanliness of locker room, equipment room and other player areas;
  • Responsible for the transportation of all required equipment and apparel to all home and away games, training sessions, club events, etc.;
  • Responsible for the inspection and repair of damaged equipment or apparel;
  • Travel with the team on all away games;
  • As the visiting team liaison, act as the point of contact for the team for all away games to resolve any issues that arise (flights, hotel, game day, meals) while the team is travelling; and
  • Other tasks as directed by the Head Coach.

What you will need :

  • Experience as an equipment manager with knowledge of the game of soccer is desirable;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and valid passport;
  • Self-starter that shows initiative;
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written);
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Willing to roll-up sleeves as necessary with a positive attitude;
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of climates and weather conditions;
  • Ability to work evening and weekends and travel with the team is expected; and
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual is considered an asset.
